Pittenger on U.S. Capitol Incident

Statement

Today, Congressman Robert Pittenger's Washington, D.C. office and the entire U.S. Capitol complex was placed on lockdown due to a shooting at the Capitol Visitors Center.

"On this day and every day, thank you to U.S. Capitol Police for your valiant service," said Congressman Pittenger. "From screening millions of visitors every year to politely answering the same questions over and over to responding to very real and dangerous threats, you serve with bravery and excellence. Thank you."

Congressman Pittenger is currently in Charlotte for meetings with constituents. His Washington, D.C. staff was placed on lockdown but continued working during the incident.
