Congressman Lou Barletta, PA-11, today voted in favor of the Continuing Resolution to keep funding the federal government. The Continuing Resolution passed the House by a vote of 277--to-151.
"I wanted to keep the government open. Once again, we were forced into a situation of passing a Continuing Resolution because the Senate hasn't passed any funding bills, and the president refuses to even come to the table. This was not the position I wanted us to be in, but there we were again. This will fund our national defense, and importantly extends E-Verify for checking the immigration status of workers. I am encouraged that we are attempting to make other policy decisions, such as repealing Obamacare and defunding Planned Parenthood, through other legislative strategies."
