Today, U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) welcomed the delay of the Medical Device Tax in the tax extenders package.
"Ohio is home to many medical device companies and this tax continues to threaten good-paying manufacturing jobs," Portman stated. "I'm pleased this legislation addresses this issue and will continue to push for a long-term solution to protect these Ohio jobs."
Portman, along with a bipartisan group of Senators, introduced the Medical Device Access and Innovation Protection Act earlier this year. This bill will repeal the medical device tax that was implemented as a part of Obamacare.
