Chairman Matt Salmon (AZ-05) today released the following statement on a trilateral summit held between China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.
"I am pleased to see the leaders of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea held their first trilateral summit meeting in three years. Effective communication and improved relations among these three nations is important for regional security and stability, an important U.S. interest. The three leaders likewise reaffirmed their commitment to the denuclearization of North Korea, one of our shared goals. I am also heartened by the bilateral meeting between Japanese Prime Minister Abe and Republic of Korea President Park, as our two vital allies work to resolve some of their long-standing differences."
