Press Release

Date: Sept. 25, 2015
Location: Washington D.C.

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today announced that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded $150,000 to the Adena Health System to establish a new health clinic in Wellston. The new clinic will treat at least 750 patients each year.

"These funds will ensure access to primary care and preventive services for Ohioans living in rural communities," said Brown. "This award from the ARC will allow Adena Health System to expand its services and care for more patients in Jackson County."

The $150,000 award will expand services to Wellston and the surrounding communities, which lack affordable access to primary care and specialty health services. The new clinic will be on South New York Avenue and will offer primary care, occupational medicine, and disease management services.
