U.S. Senator Ben Sasse issued the following statement after voting against the omnibus spending bill:

"Here's what this spending bill is: hundreds of policy decisions, thousands of pages, and more than a trillion dollars passed right before Congress skips town for Christmas. It's time for Congress to end this nonsense by doing fewer things--but with greater transparency, deliberation, and urgency. Nebraskans see through Washington's familiar, false choice between 'fund it all' or 'shut the government down.'"
