Ribble Signs Transportation Conference Report

Press Release

Date: Dec. 1, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Reid Ribble (WI-08) today signed the final conference report of the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, outlining a five-year plan for America's roads, bridges, and public transportation. Representative Ribble served as a conferee in a group of Representatives and Senators selected to work through the differences in the House and Senate transportation bills, the STRR Act and DRIVE Act. Both the House and the Senate are now expected to vote on the compromise FAST Act in order to send a bill to the President's desk before the current highway bill authorization expires on December 4, 2015.

"As a conferee negotiating on behalf of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I am proud of the work that's been done to increase efficiency, ensure resources are being used where they're needed most, and streamline the long and expensive review processes. We have also had success in ensuring that our emergency vehicles are able to use the Interstate system, that laws are sensible in allowing construction industry drivers flexibility, and that milk is able to be transported in an efficient manner."
