Today, Governor Ricketts issued a statement in observance of Christmas which is celebrated on December 25, 2015.

"Christmas is a time for us to celebrate and give thanks for God's gift of Jesus Christ. Throughout the year, the birth, life, and death of Jesus is a source of inspiration and hope for many.

"Susanne, the kids, and I wish all Nebraskans a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. If you have plans to travel, we encourage you to buckle up and to enjoy this time with your family and loved ones.

"As we gather over the holidays, we also think of the men and women serving our country around the world, and continue to pray for their safe return."
