Policy will not save us from becoming an oligarchy, but a cultural revolution might.

Cronyism and lobbyist rule have infected both major parties. Attempts to fix the problem through policy have been disappointing. Ultimately, the only way to "take the money out of politics" is to prove that, with modern communication technology, it is no longer even necessary. Once voters realize this, the great advantage held by the incumbents with their deep-pocketed contributors will begin to evaporate.
