Statement

Date: Oct. 21, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Senator James Lankford (R-OK) today greeted veterans from central Oklahoma during a one-day trip to Washington, DC war memorials with the Honor Flight charity. The Oklahomans visited the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam Wall, the Lincoln Memorial, the Iwo Jima Memorial, and Arlington National Cemetery.

"The Oklahoma Honor Flight has allowed many veterans to see the World War II memorial, as well as other memorials in Washington, DC for the first time," said Lankford. "It is difficult to see these Honor Flight trips come to an end. The trips have always served as an important reminder of the sacrifices of these veterans and their generation for our nation. I join all Oklahomans as we say thank-you to the Greatest Generation and to Representative and Mrs. Banz and the Honor Flight organization."
