Reed Fights for Savona Fire Department

Tom Reed announces the Savona Fire Department will receive a federal grant as part of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program awarded through the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

"I care about our first responders and the hard work that they do," said Reed. "They make tremendous sacrifices to keep us safe and it's only fair we make sure they have the resources they need to protect us."

The department will receive $23,716 federal grant to be used to replace fire hoses as existing hoses were beginning to fail with age. The new hoses, also of a larger capacity, will help Savona better coordinate with neighboring departments, and help them address larger fire emergencies.
