Tipton Statement on Speaker Boehner's Resignation

Statement

Date: Sept. 25, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Scott Tipton (R-CO) issued the following statement on Speaker of the House John Boehner's announcement, today, that he will be leaving Congress at the end of October:

"Facing a Democrat President and stagnant Senate, Speaker Boehner has for almost five years been given the nearly impossible task of passing Republican legislation into law. Time and again under Speaker Boehner's leadership, the House of Representatives has done its job, passing hundreds of bills to strengthen our country, create opportunity and restore the American dream. I wish all the very best to the Speaker and his family going forward. I look forward to continuing to work with leadership, whoever it will be, to restore economic prosperity in Colorado's 3rd Congressional District and across the nation, and chart a course of opportunity for this and future generations of Americans."
