The key to prosperity for all our citizens is a strong Louisiana economy. Scott believes we need more people paying fewer taxes rather than fewer people paying more taxes.

To do that, Louisiana must be a state that attracts job creators and encourages the expansion of companies already here. Our state is on the cusp of a manufacturing renaissance with hundreds of millions of dollars in announced projects and expansions.

Now is not the time to slow down our efforts. As Governor, Scott will maintain a focus on creating a climate where the private sector thrives -- entrepreneurs and small businesses as well as employers with thousands of workers. Louisiana needs a strong and diverse economy that will provide opportunities for our citizens and strengthen middle class families.

As Governor, Scott Angelle will:

* Promote a free market economy and limit the size and scope of state government
* Reduce excessive regulations, streamline permitting and eliminate unnecessary red tape and oversight, particularly for small businesses;
* Work to create a strong business climate that is competitive in the 21st century economy;
* Maintain aggressive recruitment and retention policies and programs including incentives that demonstrate a positive return on investment for Louisiana;
* Overhaul our complicated tax code; and
* Reform the state budget process and structure so that limited tax dollars are available for state priorities.
