Ellmers: Deeply Skeptical On President's So-Called "Iran Deal"

Statement

Date: July 14, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (R-NC-02) released the following statement on the Obama Administration's proposed nuclear deal with Iran:

"I remain deeply skeptical of any deal with the Iran, as they are the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism. As our trusted ally and friend, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated during his joint session to Congress: no deal is better than a bad deal."

"The administration has fallen short of many of the goals they initially set forth--and as a result, we have bolstered Iran with billions in sanctions and strengthened their ability to spread fear and violence in the region. The House will be diligent in its review of any so-called deal, to ensure that it does not pose a threat to our allies or national security."
