Frelinghuysen Issues Statement Regarding New Jersey's Military Bases and BRAC

Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (NJ-11) today issued the following statement regarding the impact the Department of Defense's (DoD) military base realignment and closure (BRAC) recommendations would have on New Jersey.

"New Jersey's military bases continue to provide a variety of critically important services to our young troops fighting the War against Terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan. I am deeply disappointed by the Department's recommendation regarding Fort Monmouth. I am anxious to read the Department s rationale and to review the precise factors that led to their decision.

"Certainly, I join the entire New Jersey Congressional Delegation and Acting Governor Codey in working to fight for Fort Monmouth. We will continue to do everything we can to support their critical mission and the thousands of employees who dedicate their lives to our national defense."
