Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) applauded House passage of a critical anti-human trafficking bill. The Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act of 2015 -- which includes three amendments by Brown -- is now headed to the President's desk. This legislation would enhance services for victims of human trafficking, as well as for runaway youth who are especially vulnerable to being trafficked. The bill would also expand victim restitution and support services, as well as provide additional resources to law enforcement to help improve human trafficking reporting and investigation.

"We've seen the devastating effects that human trafficking has on communities in Ohio and across the country," said Brown. "This law will work to protect our most vulnerable populations from the most heinous of crimes and to provide justice, restitution, and healing for trafficking victims."
