"Passionate, engaged teachers can make all the difference for our students - helping them get a strong education, enabling students to succeed, and setting them on the right path forward," said Heitkamp. "I'm incredibly proud of two of North Dakota's teachers who are being recognized for their efforts that go above and beyond to support our students. Thank you to the top-notch teachers, like Scott and Cynthia as well as so many others across our state, who bring out the best in their students and have lasting impacts on them."

PAEMST awards are administered by the National Science Foundation (NSF) on behalf of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP). The achievement honors teachers who have contributed to the teaching and learning of science and mathematics. Each awardee will receive a citation signed by the President and a $10,000 award from NSF. Awardees are invited to travel to Washington, DC for an awards ceremony at a later date.
