Location: Washington, DC

New Hampshire representatives of the National Retail Federation (NRF) this week presented U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) with a Hero of Main Street award. Senator Ayotte received the award in recognition of her efforts to advance pro-growth policies that will help America's Main Street businesses succeed and grow.

"I'm honored to receive this award, and I was glad to meet today with members of New Hampshire's retail industry," said Ayotte. "Decisions made on Capitol Hill have a real impact on Main Street businesses, and as a member of the Commerce and Small Business Committees, I'll continue my efforts to create a better economic climate for New Hampshire retailers to grow and thrive. That includes working to cutting Washington red tape that discourages growth and reforming our complex tax code."

NRF represents retail businesses in more than 45 countries, including the U.S., as the world's largest retail trade association. Retail is the nation's largest private sector employer, supplying jobs for 42 million Americans. The association advocates for retailers by highlighting their important role in communities around the world. According to NRF, there are 18,467 retail establishments in New Hampshire, which directly support 159,845 jobs.
