Cochran Statement on Supreme Court Ruling on Obamacare

Press Release

Date: June 25, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) today issued the following statement on the Supreme Court decision in King v Burwell that upholds the legality of government subsidies being provided to those who have purchased health insurance plans on the federal exchange under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare:

"The Supreme Court decision doesn't mean Obamacare is good for Americans. It remains an expensive and burdensome law that should be repealed and replaced with solutions to make healthcare more accessible and affordable for Americans. I will continue to support legislation to abandon Obamacare's failed policies in favor of more workable policies that will give individuals and families more control over their own health care decisions."

Cochran has cosponsored several bills this year to address flaws in Obamacare, including the Jobs and Premium Protection Act (S.183), the American Liberty Restoration Act (S.203), and the ObamaCare Repeal Act (S.339).
