What is the Political Courage Test?

Florida Congressional Election 2016 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Life begins at conception. As a farmer, I know that seeds are not dead and then suddenly alive just because you can see the fruit: It's the same with people. Our Constitution mandates us to protect liberty and that applies even when a person can't vocalize it.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
I believe we should start out with a zero based budget where we can determine what is a necessity and what is not.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Our political landscape has usually been "whoever has the most money wins". By limiting the amount of money and maintaining transparency, we can avoid unsavory relationships where politicians vote certain ways based on their donors and not the people they represent. We should promote a true free market in all ways, shapes, and forms, where the small business owners and individual donors voices in their district is just as loud as a corporation.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
No Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
To better balance our budget, it is more worthwhile to invest in the community with a focus on stronger industry and better trade and education to avoid instances where non-violent offenders break the law: Because they have jobs and are happier and better able to provide for themselves and their families. A fine is acceptable, but prisons are run on tax payer money and we shouldn't be spending around $30,000 per inmate on someone who was found with $40 worth of marijuana.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
There are ways that tax incentives can be mutually beneficial for start ups, large job creation, citizens, and our honored heroes: We can incentivize promoting positive requirements like "you won't be taxed on (ex. jet fuel) in exchange that you train and employ disabled veterans" and have specific benchmarks they must make to attain that.
No Do you generally support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
I am against common core and the institution of the Department of Education; however, there are certain standards we should have that make transference between states easier for our children and their parents so when new job opportunities or family emergencies arise where they would need to move, they are not at a disadvantage in their new district. Our children are diverse, some will naturally be better at math and others at English and our teachers, children, and tax payers shouldn't be penalized or forced to conform if they can better explain a concept to different types of children.
Yes Do you support building the Keystone XL pipeline?
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No Do you support increased regulations on the hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") industry?
I would say no unless advised by the scientific community that it was causing environmental, conservation, and population health concerns and hazards.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
Unknown Position Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Our second amendment is a right and it was created not only for personal protection, but for government to fear and respect its people, which is exactly the kind of respect we should give guns. There should be background checks, mental health clearances, and safety exercises, but that's not gun control. That's like saying getting a driver's permit is car control even though we know car wrecks, sadly, kill many. Those pre-clearances and safety courses assist you in using your right safely.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Wholeheartedly. There were a lot of provisions that strong-armed states into participating or losing funding that went back to the state - It was unfair and blanket approaches to 50 different states with different problems just created a bigger mess than the supposed intention to help people to be insured.
Unknown Position Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
Yes Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Unknown Position Do you support increased American intervention in Iraq and Syria beyond air support?
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
It should be an option for individuals to be able to prepare and plan for themselves

Rebuilding the blue collar workers is absolutely inherent to protecting ourselves as a nation. To fund this would be easy, we should stop sending money to countries overseas when we can manufacture, craft, and grow here: We need to be self reliant and incentive small businesses to start up, maintain payroll, and employ our veterans.
