Vote to pass a bill that appropriates an additional $2 billion for support of the 'Cash for Clunkers' program, whereby consumers can receive a subsidy when they trade in an old vehicle for a new, more fuel-efficient one.

Official Title of Legislation:

HR 3435: AN ACT making supplemental appropriations for fiscal year 2009 for the Consumer Assistance to Recycle and Save Program.

Highlights:

-Provides that the funds appropriated in this bill shall remain available until September 30, 2010.

-Mandates that $2 billion be transferred from the Department of Energy's Innovative Technology Loan Guarantee Program.
