Registration Deadline: You must register to vote for an upcoming election at least 21 days before that election.
Party Affiliation: Oregon has closed primaries, you must be registered with the party to vote in their primary elections.
VOTER REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS
Age: Must be 18 years old by Election Day (17 years old to register)
Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen
Residency: Must be a resident of Oregon
Mental Competency: A person “suffering from a mental handicap” is entitled to the full rights of an elector, if otherwise qualified, unless the person has been adjudicated incompetent to vote as provided by law.
Felony Convictions: Felons who are not incarcerated are eligible to vote in Oregon.
ID Requirements: You must provide your valid Oregon Driver's License or ID card issued by the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). A suspended Driver's License is valid, a revoked Driver's License is not valid.
If you do not have valid Oregon ID, provide the last four digits of your Social Security Number.
If you do not have a Social Security number or a valid Oregon identification, provide a copy of one of the following acceptable identification:
-Valid photo identification;
-A paycheck stub;
-A utility bill;
-A bank statement;
-A government document;
-Proof of eligibility under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act(UOCAVA) or the Voting Accessibility for the Elderly and Handicapped Act(VAEH)

ABSENTEE BALLOT QUALIFICATIONS
Who can vote absentee: All elections in Oregon are Vote by Mail. This means that registered voters receive their ballots in the mail and can vote in the comfort of their home.
Other absentee voter qualifications: Voters may become long term absentee voters for the following reasons:
-You will be on vacation during an election
-You are a college student living away from home
-You live part of the year in another state

Military and overseas voting: If you are serving in the armed forces, merchant marines, or temporarily living outside the territorial limits of the United States you can register to vote through Oregon's online voter registration or the Federal Voting Assistance Program's online system.
