Registration Deadline: Mailed registration needs to be postmarked 30 days prior to election. Other methods(Fax, in-person, and electronic submissions) must be turned in 30 days prior to election day. In addition, registration forms received by mail with an illegible postmark date must be signed 30 days prior to the election and received 25 days prior to the election.
Party Affiliation: Primary voting limits are dependent upon party by-laws, certain voters may choose their primary.

VOTER REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS
Age: Must be 18 years or older within 90 days before election day
Citizenship: Must be a United States Citizen
Residency: Must be a resident of Alaska and of the House district for at least 30 days before election day. If not already registered to vote in Alska and initially registering to vote from outside the state of Alaska, either by mail, fax or email, you must provide proof of Alaska residency by submitting a copy of one of the following documents with your voter registration application:
-Alaska driver's license;
-Alaska hunting or fishing license;
-proof of Alaska student loan and college tuition showing Alaska as state of residency;
-military leave and earning statement indicating Alaska as place of residence;
-proof of employment in Alaska indicating date of employment; or
-other documentation that supports your claim as an Alaska resident.
Mental Competency: No person may vote who has been judicially determined to be of “unsound mind” unless the disability has been removed through judicial determination
Felony Convictions: Rights restored upon completion of sentence, including prison, parole, and probation

Time off to vote: A qualified voter who does not have sufficient time outside working hours within which to vote at a state election may, without loss of pay, take off as much working time as will enable voting. If any employee has two consecutive hours in which to vote, either between the opening of the polls and the beginning of the employee's regular working shift, or between the end of the regular working shift and the closing of the polls, the employee shall be considered to have sufficient time outside working hours within which to vote.
