Virginia State Legislative Election 2007 National Political Awareness Test

The Political Courage Test asks candidates which items they will support if elected. It does not ask them to indicate which items they will oppose. Through extensive research of public polling data, we discovered that voters are more concerned with what candidates would support when elected to office, not what they oppose. If a candidate does not select a response to any part or all of any question, it does not necessarily indicate that the candidate is opposed to that particular item.

Virginia is one of four states with centralized road construction/maintenance. The current state-funded and controlled system isn't working. I propose to decentralize the road construction and maintenance, using the General Fund, and better protect the public in public-private partnerships.

The Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads delegations must work together to reform state roads funding and priorities. Virginia's economic well-being is threatened by congestion in these two areas. We also face similar challengers of urbanization, growth, and problems associated with illegal migration. I'll reach out across political and partisan boundaries to identify common ground and negotiate compromises to solve problems. I will not, however, compromise principles of good government in oder to pass legislation.
