Congressional Election 2006 National Political Awareness Test

The Political Courage Test asks candidates which items they will support if elected. It does not ask them to indicate which items they will oppose. Through extensive research of public polling data, we discovered that voters are more concerned with what candidates would support when elected to office, not what they oppose. If a candidate does not select a response to any part or all of any question, it does not necessarily indicate that the candidate is opposed to that particular item.

In 2005, I called for American troops to begin to withdraw from Iraq. Our overwhelming military presence has inflamed the insurgency. Our troops have become a crutch for the Iraqis. If we want Iraq to succeed, the Iraqis must begin to take responsibility for their own future. The Iraqi government must make its own decisions, make necessary compromises to avoid full-scale civil war, and take responsibility for its own future.....
The Israeli people have the right to live in peace within safe and secure borders side by side with a Palestinian state that accepts Israel's right to exist and fully renounces terrorism.
This Administration's policy on North Korea has made American less safe. On the Bush Administration's watch, North Korea's nuclear arsenal has increased four-fold. America needs to work harder with the international community and our allies in the region to bring North Korea back from the brink. Since the issue so clearly affects our own security, it obviously makes sense for the Administration to hold direct talks with North Korea. (for Afghanistan part)....
