Unfortunatively, the debate on reproductive freedom has been narrowly constructed around abortion when it is a much broader health issue. I also feel as a state & country we do not do enough to prevent unwanted pregnancies; preferring an approach to use education (i.e., abstinence only) that is ineffective and harmful.

As a member of the minority party, my top priority will be to continue to offer a voice of reason and balance in state government. My priorities will also be to continue to address health care issues (e.g., affordable prescription drugs, uninsured population, mulicultural health etc....), education (e.g., funding, achievement gaps, etc.) and other critical issues impacting my constituents and the state of Utah.
