Pro-life | a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
No | b) Do you support legalizing abortion when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
Yes | c) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
The questions posed are trick questions reflecting a minority of incidents of unplanned pregnancy. Abortion, in general, is not an answer as life begins at conception. As with all legislation, it depends upon how a bill is written. |
No | a) In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions?
No | b) In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No | c) In order to fund education, do you support creating a state sales tax on electronics?
No | d) Do you support the development of a road usage fee in New Hampshire?
Usage fees are an honored taxation principle in NH. As has been proven with the reduction of the BET/BPT formula, tax revenues increase when taxes are lowered. This apparently counter-intuitive economic truth has repeatedly been demonstrated on both the federal level and state level. As Meldrim Thomson once said, low taxes are the result of low spending. Low, essential and effective spending is the key. |
No | a) Do you support a limit on campaign contributions to state candidates?
Yes | b) Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
No | c) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting?
Yes | d) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
No | e) Do you support automatic voter registration?
the so-called independent commission question is again a false question as the NH Constitution clearly and unequivocally states that it is the duty of the legislature to do redistricting as the legislators are the once directly responsible to the people, no so group of elite "experts". |
No | a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes | b) Should an individual under 18 accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
Yes | c) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
No | d) Do you support the use of private prisons in New Hampshire?
No | e) Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
f) Do you support the legalization of recreational marijuana?
some children under 18 engage in truly horrific crimes and should be treated as adults, not the same way a 10 year-old would be treated. this must be handled, as it is now, on a case-by-case basis. |
No | a) Do you support state government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes | b) Do you support lowering state income taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes | c) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector?
Yes | d) Do you support requiring welfare applicants to pass a drug test in order to receive benefits?
No | e) Do you support an increase of the minimum wage of New Hampshire?
No | f) Do you support requiring employers to provide paid family leave?
Yes | g) Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
in re reducing regulations: There are some instances where the State has imposed conflicting regulations upon a business as the Agencies often do not talk to one another. In some cases the Agencies have actually exceeded their regulatory authority, but few have the resources to combat this over reach. in re COVID payments: The State has caused great economic harm to businesses in NH of its own volition in the name of "Safety." Since the cause of the economic harm was the State, then the State should compensate the individual or business harmed. |
No | a) Do you support adopting federal education standards in New Hampshire?
Yes | b) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
No | c) Do you support increasing teacher salaries AND/OR benefits in New Hampshire?
No | d) Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from New Hampshire high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
In re adopting federal regulations: In Ways & Means, where I sit, the adoption of some federal regulations would result in severe impact upon the balance between fees and taxes that is the NH Advantage in taxation. In re Charter Schools: Too many have been mislead into thinking that Charter Schools are private schools, they are not by law. Charter Schools are public schools by law. In re Teachers: That is a decision for the localities to make, not the State. |
No | a) Do you support state funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
No | b) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
No | c) Do you support increasing state funding for clean drinking water initiatives?
No | d) Should the construction and expansion of landfills near state parks and federal lands be prohibited?
Each of the above is contingent upon the specifics of the proposal. As with all legislation, it depends upon how a bill is written. |
No | a) Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Yes | b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
Yes | c) Should teachers be allowed to bring guns into the classroom after passing gun safety training?
No | d) Should a license be required for gun ownership?

No | b) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in New Hampshire's anti-discrimination laws?
No | c) Do you support greater efforts by New Hampshire state government in closing the pay gap between men and women?
d) Other or expanded principles: |
NH residents occasionally suffer from a lack of access to public records. I have worker to make public records accessible and affordable. NH should be a sunlight State where all records of transactions with any governmental entity are open, except in limited specific cases.
I hope to be re-elected to again work to stop the ever increasing demand that "government do something" in every case. Government is, in most instances, a necessary element of society. Government cannot do everything. It is, as the founders often noted, up to the people to maintain society and to treat each other with respect. Consider the lowly stop sign on a rural road. It is up to each driver approaching that sign to, on their own volition, stop. It is impossible for "government" to enforce that stricture, it is up to each of us to act appropriately. |
