What can one possible say regarding life if they were ABORTED.

1) State Spending:

Maintain Statusa) Education (higher)

Maintain Statusf) Transportation/infrastructure

h) Other or expanded categories:

By maintaining status on most of these issues, it ensures, perhaps cuts in unnecessary places where waste is prevalent. When the citizenry is asked to make sacrifices and the leadership does not follow suit it sets a bad example. The top administrators, School District Superintendents, College and University Presidents and atheletic coaches should be forced to make HUGE sacrifices, as a matter of factly, no one employed in State Government should be paid and or compensated more than the Govenor. Law enforcement is our # 1 defense for citizens defense. State should own orange barrels, less beautification.

2) State Taxes:
Using the key, indicate what state tax levels (#1-6) you support for the following general categories. Select one level per category; you may use a number more than once.

j) Other or expanded principles:

This is one of the touches issues facing Michiganders as of late. Perhaps an alternative to our current taxation system is to initiate a fairer flat tax, whereas everyone pays a flat tax and there are no write offs. My big problem with taxes and fees is that they are touted as "only" this much. Add up all the "onlies" and it gets more difficult to afford food, energy both auto and home energy, clothing, educational items and on and on. But when you add up ALL GOVERNMENTS "ONLIES" it is dismissed as being miniscule, not even relavent.

3) Budget Stabilization:
Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing Michigan's budget.
Noa) Tapping into Michigan's "rainy day" fund
Nob) Increasing tuition rates at public universities
Noc) Reducing or eliminating public worker collective bargaining
d) Reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions
Yese) Instituting mandatory furloughs AND/OR layoffs for state employees
Nof) Reducing benefits for Medicaid recipients
g) Other or expanded principles:

Leading by example, cutting State Legislatures salary and perks, reducing their office budgets, reducing the number of aides, and drastically reducing Legislators "franking" privileges. In just the last few years the very limited number of communication between the 36th Dist. Representative and his constituents has been via e-mail, not once in 4 years have I received ANYTHING thru snail mail.

No4) Do you support providing financial assistance to Detroit's city pension system from the State of Michigan's "rainy day" fund?
a) Do you support limits on the following types of contributions for state candidates?
Yes1) Individual
Yes2) Political Action Committee
Yes3) Corporate
Yes4) Political Party
Yesb) Should candidates for state office be encouraged to meet voluntary spending limits?
Yesc) Do you support requiring full and timely disclosure of campaign finance information?
Yesd) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting?
Yese) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
f) Other or expanded principles:

Here in lies a lot of the problems with non partisanship. Most campaign contributors don't contribute for the sole purpose of satisfaction, they contribute for possible reward. A government contract, grant consideration, and on. ELIMINATE campaign contributions thereby ensuring better representation of the Districts constituency.
Perseverance and a dedication and belief that you are the candidate best suited to represent the people. By making yourself available and identifying yourself as the candidate, not being ashamed by adorning your vehicle with "vote for Murphy" and taking out the "Merf Mobile" being honest with your answers. And to do your best

Yesa) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yesb) Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders, such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?

Yese) Should a minor who sends sexually-explicit or nude photos by cell phone face criminal charges?
Yesf) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
g) Other or expanded principles:

Look at the things that are legal. Tobacco, kills millions every year, legal. Strip clubs, morality at its worst, legal. Alcoholic beverages, kills innocent and user alike, legal. Why are these legal?, revenue.
Marijuana, for every study saying its harmful, there is a contradictory one claiming it is harmless. MASSIVE AMOUNT of REVENUE can be realized with the legalization of marijuana.
After all, thats why the fore mentioned are legal.
There are animals out there that are deserving of the death penalty, even juveniles acting as adults.

Yesa) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector?
Yesb) Do you support increased state funding for job-training programs that re-train displaced workers?
Yesc) Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits?
Yesd) Do you support providing financial incentives to the private sector for the purpose of job creation?
Yese) Do you support government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Nof) Do you support providing direct financial assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure?
Yesg) Do you support an increase of the minimum wage?
h) Other or expanded principles:

When the subject of Government regulation is discussed, is it to better protect the citizens, or is it to better protect industry from the citizens. Is it to promote a community, or is it meant to divide communities. How on earth do the leaders expect the economy to rebound if people are spending more than they are earning, given the chance of a pay raise( not the minimum wage increase directed by law), people can and will spend more on what can be considered luxury items.

Noa) Do you support the national Common Core State Standards initiative?
Nob) Do you support a merit pay system for teachers?
Noc) Is the tenure process for public school teachers producing effective teachers?
Nod) Should parents be allowed to use vouchers to send their children to any school?
Noe) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
Nof) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid?
Nog) Should illegal immigrants who graduate from Michigan high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
h) Other or expanded principles:

I feel the way the public school system has been of late is to "dumb" down the students, OUR CHILDREN. Lets not spend additional time on reading, writing, arithmetic, and the STEM programs (science, technology, engineering & math) they are teaching and discussing equality, genders and socialism.

Noa) Do you support state funding for the development of alternative energy?
Nob) Do you support state funding for the development of traditional domestic energy sources (e.g. coal, natural gas, oil)?
Noc) Do you support state funding for improvements to Michigan's energy infrastructure?
Yesd) Do you support state funding for open space preservation?
Noe) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
f) Other or expanded principles:

Our colleges and Universities do a massive amount of research and development for the private sector. Let private industry foot the bill for the R&D. In some instances they do, and return funds, in most they reap huge financial gain, and the schools, well, the schools are high and dry.
Has it occurred to anyone that alternative energy may be responsible for global warming as well. The refraction of light off solar panels, the collection of light for high intensity collection towers in the desert, light refracting off energy efficent windows gambling hall in Las Vegas has actually burned people

Yesa) Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
Yesb) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
Yesc) Should citizens be allowed to carry concealed guns?
Yesd) Should a license be required for gun possession?
e) Other or expanded principles:

Gun violence in our largest metropolitan areas is a serious issue. I support the 2nd Amendment, what I cant understand is what are these people hunting? Protecting themselves against each other for sure. Are they also hunting each other.

a) Do you support a universally-accessible, publicly-administered health insurance option?

e) Do you support requiring individuals to purchase health care insurance?
f) Do you support monetary limits on damages that can be collected in malpractice lawsuits?
g) Do you support allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes?
h) Other or expanded principles:

When the people working for you, ( remember the phrase, I work for you), have better healthcare then the people they work for, and are considered a higher class because they "work for you", it is passed time to change. As a veteran of the United States Armed Forces I know first hand the challenges of V A healthcare. If we want the problem fixed and fast, put all these people that "work for us" in the V A system, not the Officers programs but the enlisted. Because they "work for us".

Noa) Do you support same-sex marriage?
b) Should same-sex couples be allowed to form civil unions?
c) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Michigan's anti-discrimination laws?
d) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Michigan's anti-discrimination laws?
e) Other or expanded principles:

What kind of demoralizing society are we becoming, when 3% (as reported in publications) ask for and receive preferential treatment than 97%. What an individual believes and/or does with their private lives is really no business of mine, I merely request that their private life stay with them as long as they are no threat to my family and do not push their customs and religious beliefs upon our family if asked.

In the following area, on an attached page, or via e-mail, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.

Leading by example, Michigan has a Legislature that is in session just over 110 days a year. Surely if the Legislature refuses to sacrifice in salary and other areas they will be embarrassed by when a person (Robert Murphy) commits 50% of his salary to charity. Create and have monthly meetings with the citizens of the 36th District newly formed Senior Advisory, Family Advisory, Citizens Advisory and Youth Advisory Boards. These are the bread and butter and without these groups the District and the State ARE GOING TO BE MORE OF A WELFARE STATE.
