I would cut the U.S. military budget by half and remove the majority of U.S. military bases from foreign soil. I would end the Afghanistan war and bringing troops home from there and Iraq. I would impose a transaction tax on stock speculators and currency traders to balance our budget. These savings would fund my other priorities. My second priority is to introduce legislation to end corporate personhood and to overturn "Citizens United." I would create jobs through a "Green New Deal" -- retrofitting homes and businesses for energy efficiency and investing in renewable technology, particular solar and wind.
