We need a full range of options to deal with a full range of offenders - community based prevention, counseling, + prosecution. I believe the Federal government should focus on prosecuting the most dangerous criminals. Programs to prevent crime & treat certain offenders are best handled by the states.

I support many of the above mentioned items, however I believe they are best achieved through state and local efforts, not dictates or mandates from the federal government. One of the best ways to accomplish this is through fulfulling the federal commitment to funding the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, which would free up local dollars for local priorities. Education decisions are best made at the local level, by the parents, teachers, administrators and school boards who know our children best.
