What is the Political Courage Test?

Maryland Congressional Election 2012 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Although I oppose abortion personally, the government should not be involved. Although I would support banning late term abortions and partial birth abortions.
No Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
No Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
IMMEDIATE WITHDRAWAL

Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing the federal budget. In order to balance the budget,

Yes do you support reducing defense spending?
No do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes do you support reducing Medicaid spending?
Yes do you support reducing Medicare spending?
Yes Is balancing the budget a legislative priority?
The problem is not that we are taxing too little, but spending too much. Government is too massive. Substantial cuts must be made.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I do support full disclosure.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support the temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
Yes Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
Tax cuts and spending cuts, letting people keep and spend their own money will stimulate growth. Government spending does not.
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
There should be no federal grants
Yes Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
Drill baby drill. We have enough energy available in the US to go a long way towards energy independence.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Human activity plays a small part in it. Policies enacted will have little impact on global temperature. Climate change has occurred in the past and will occur in the future. Government will use it as an excuse to gain more control over our lives.
No Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
Only violent criminals should not be allowed to purchase guns.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
No Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
Obama/Romney is an abomination that will bankrupt the US and decrease the quality of health care. Free market principles should be used to improve health care. 80 percent of Americans are satisfied with their health plan.
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
Yes Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
Yes Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
Free health care, education, and welfare benefits are a magnet attracting illegals to the US. Turn off the magnet and you will decrease illegal immigration. Also end the "anchor baby" route to citizenship.
Yes Do you support same-sex marriage?
Government should not be involved in personal affairs of people. Homosexuals should be as miserable as the rest of us!
No Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
No Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon?
The U.S. should not be the world's policeman. We can't afford it and it weakens the country. We have troops in 135 countries around the world. Bring them all home. We are broke yet we are paying to defend countries like Japan + Germany.
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
Social Security is a Ponzi scheme that will collapse. It is also a bad deal. Money put into Social Security would bring much greater return if invested properly.

Let's follow the constitution. It is a remarkable guide. Most spending decisions should be made at the state and local level. The federal government is too massive and intrusive and should be dismantled as much as possible.
People should keep the fruits of their labor. It encourages investment and saving. You cannot tax a corporation, It is passed on to people. The US has the highest corporate taxes in the world.
Top priority is bringing home our troops from around the world. We should have a non-interventionist foreign policy. George Washington warned us of foreign entanglements. Eisenhower warned of the military industrial complex. We have failed to heed these warnings, thus weakening our security and bankrupting the country. Our infrastructure is failing but we are building roads and bridges in the Middle East! Next, we must reform all entitlement programs while we have the time to make intelligent decisions. We are on the same road as Greece. When is the only question. Third shrink government and expand freedom. Let's get back...
