Every budget item needs to be reviewed regularly, and zero-based budgeting must be used in determining budget allocation. Many programs can have sunsets or simply reduced by eliminating the rampant fraud in government handouts.

Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
NoCandidate AnswerDo you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Other or expanded principles

Regarding human activity and climate change:
There is no question that human activity can have an effect on the climate. It is also important that we be good stewards of the earth. However, that does not mean placing the welfare of nature above human beings. Nature is neither an object to be abused, nor an object of worship.

There are many factors involved in the climate, and it is impossible to isolate just one factor, and there is science on both sides of the "global warming" issue. Good policy results in the prudent analysis and balancing of all these issues.

Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
Other or expanded principles

It is reasonable policy to require a background check for those who wish to purchase a firearm, and those who wish to carry a concealed handgun should be expected to obtain a permit. But in general, gun control legislation usually takes guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens, and doesn't prevent those who plan on using guns for illegal purposes from obtaining them anyway.

YesCandidate AnswerDo you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
YesShould the U.S use military force in order to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Other or expanded principles

All options should be on the table to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, as this outcome would completely destabilize the region, incite war in the Middle East, and destroy any American interests in that part of the world. Further, the Iranian regime supports and exports terrorism. If they obtain nuclear weapons that would put America directly at risk of attack from nuclear-armed terrorists.
