What is the Political Courage Test?

Presidential Election 2012 Political Courage Test

Pro-choiceCandidate AnswerDo you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Other or expanded principles

Although, I'm Pro-Choice, I hope that citizens would choose "life" in their decisions. For me Pro-Choice would include the following: No Government funding for abortion, unless it is for a health and fatal risk of necessity. No late term abortion, unless there is a physical fatal health factor involved. We should continue to provide education and true facts on abortion issues. Personally, I am against abortion, but I don't believe in forcing away someone's right to choose for themselves.

I believe in getting "creative" in other ways besides cutting programs and raising taxes to gain revenue for our budget.

I don't have all the facts here on these issues, and while there is no magic wand to fix everything to be perfect, and I certainly don't know it all, but I would be willing to hear what works best for the people. Also these are issues that would need Congress approval.

Other or expanded principles
YesCandidate AnswerDo you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?

YesCandidate AnswerDo you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
YesDo you support the 2010 temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
YesDo you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
Other or expanded principles

Well, here you ask would a person "spend" in order to make money and create jobs, if the end result gives you the "prize" that you look for, then why not pay something to gain a lot, if that is in fact what would make it work for your results. Sometimes it is true that spending can perhaps keep the jobs going, and more jobs would mean having economic growth.

YesCandidate AnswerDo you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
Other or expanded principles

The tax payer money should show that it is used for a program that works, and not waste funding on a system that produces a constant failure.

YesDo you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
NoCandidate AnswerDo you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
YesCandidate AnswerDo you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
Other or expanded principles

I believe that we should all care about the environment globally, and therefore if other Countries are not being regulated and we are, then it takes away some of our competitive ability and job growth opportunity for our Country.

NoCandidate AnswerDo you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
YesDo you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
YesCandidate AnswerDo you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
Other or expanded principles

There are terrorist in many places, and sometimes I think, although I am no expert on Military operations, that there are perhaps better ways of trying to beat terrorism around the world other than having direct combat, for instance, better security right here in our own Country and abroad.

YesCandidate AnswerDo you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
Other or expanded principles

We should have some laws that help support the control of guns for the wrong reasons, in the wrong hands. I believe that citizens have a right to protect themselves and bear arms, but with some control of purchase, and accountability.

YesCandidate AnswerDo you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
NoCandidate AnswerShould individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
Other or expanded principles

Some small things in the Healthcare Bill are good and okay, for instance, no pre-existing conditions and the denial of benefits, however, there is also a lot of other stuff in the Healthcare Bill that needs to be repealed and re-worked so that all may have a satisfaction with the Bill, and one that would also not have the Government spend more money.

NoCandidate AnswerDo you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
YesDo you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
YesDo you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
Other or expanded principles

These questions are "cut & dry", but I believe that there are other ideas to help make Immigration Laws work better for both America and the Immigrant wishing to become an American, and there are also other ways to handle the "illegal" situation that we have been dealing with respectfully and fairly.

YesCandidate AnswerDo you support same-sex marriage?
Other or expanded principles

Although for me personally, marriage is a man and a woman, but I also respect those who don't believe as I do. I also don't believe that the Laws should force any Church to marry same sex, unless they desire to do so, by their choice and approval. The Government should pass the same sex marriage nationally, as a civil marriage, with a Justice of the Peace, as a legal and binding reunion between those that choose same sex marriage.

YesCandidate AnswerDo you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
Other or expanded principles

Citizens are going to need to get "creative" on how they can save for their own personal retirement.

3. Paying our debt and reduce any "unnecessary" spending.
4. Immigration reform, prison & drug rehab reform, and border protection.
5.Listen to the people, and be bipartisan, in fact, "tripartisan".
6.Fundraising to help Americas budgets (Social Security, etc.), via volunteering efforts.
