Michigan State Legislative Election 2008 Political Courage Test

The Political Courage Test asks candidates which items they will support if elected. It does not ask them to indicate which items they will oppose. Through extensive research of public polling data, we discovered that voters are more concerned with what candidates would support when elected to office, not what they oppose. If a candidate does not select a response to any part or all of any question, it does not necessarily indicate that the candidate is opposed to that particular item.

Indicate which principles you support (if any) regarding abortion.

The child cannot be punished or terminated for the crimes of the father.

I support getting people back to work and not taking from those who do work hard for there money. I will not vote to get rid of our safety net called welfare but be more cautious of how it is used.
My New tax system would make our state and economic Powerhouse. I will not have a sales tax system that charges on food at the grocery store.
We need to cut our budget so we can balance our budget. The people own the government, not the government own the people. On Taxes for Internet sales. I would only vote for a small tax of 2.7% charged to the buyer outside of our state to help bring extra income to our state. I do not support state taxes being charged on items purchased online for Michigan residents from companies inside Michigan. i support only a 2% sales tax on certain items mailed from outside the state of Michigan if greater than $250.00 or higher

I will also change the way we tax and push more onto tourists to cover our budgeting needs. We will be better off in the long run and since there is more disposable income then inside our state. We can spend more at home.
