The Social Security program is not in need of radical restructuring. Rick supports taking steps to ensure the long-term solvency of the Social Security program without raising the retirement age or reducing benefits. Social Security is a moral contract between the federal government and the American people. This contract must never be violated. Deficit Reduction and Social Security: While steps must be taken to impose fiscal discipline on federal spending and address our currently large budget deficits, we must not balance the budget on the backs of senior citizens.
