I support encouraging our private utilities, farmers, entrepreneurs and individuals to: develop alternative energies; development traditional domestic energy sources; produce bio-fuel crops; improve our energy infrastructure, create open spaces; & reduce the effects of climate change. As an entrepreneur, I know the struggles the private market has faced. I understand what it takes to succeed, that regulations and costs deter. Washington needs to be a place that encourages entrepreneurism. When individuals and businesses succeed, the environment and citizens flourish. Government should work with citizens, not as adversaries. |

JOBS/ECONOMY Washington needs to be employer friendly to create jobs. When businesses succeed, our economy flourishes, people are successful. Government should work with employers, not against them. STATE GOVERNMENT State employees now have less security. Overspending is damaging. More taxes arent the long term solution. Honor promises made to state employees in pensions/retirement savings by restructuring agencies to provide more efficient services to taxpayers, more stability for state employees. EDUCATION Return to basics of learning. Its important to measure student performance to understand where we improve. Have a fair system to evaluate how teachers are teaching, whether they are succeeding. |
