Reason for Seeking Public Office:
Congress needs a new generation of leaders committed to reform and results. I'm running to be one of those leaders. My goal is to encourage efficient governance through sound fiscal policy and reduced bureaucracy. At a bare minimum, elected officials in Congress should vote to prevent the federal government from being an obstacle to entrepreneurship, innovation, and limited taxation. I believe my record of four terms in the New Hampshire Legislature demonstrates my commitment to this approach, and it is something I would continue in Washington.
Washington, D.C. has become characterized by dysfunction and dishonesty. Deficit spending is ever-escalating. Obamacare and heavy-handed regulations are limiting innovation and reducing personal decision-making. Our tax system shrinks the competiveness of our country in the world economy.
The bottom line: these are great times, characterized by great challenges. I believe the people of New Hampshire have something to contribute in the great debates that lie ahead, and I would be honored to be their voice. Our New Hampshire values of small government, personal decision-making and freedom deserve an effective voice in Washington.
