Priority Issues:
The three most important issues facing the constituents I represent are improving Michigan's economy, heath care coverage, and education. Collectively, these three areas constitute the surest guarantee of self-sufficiency. Creating good-paying jobs and diversifying the State's economy is probably the most immediate need. By making health care both more affordable and accessible we could simultaneously improve care for thousands upon thousands of people while, at the same time, reducing costs. Finally, we are reminded almost daily about the importance of education in an economy that is increasingly demanding advanced knowledge and skills in the workplace.
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I am a wife and mother of five adult children and lifelong resident of Monroe County. I can best represent the working families in Monroe County because I have experienced struggles similar to what many families are encountering today in providing for my family, their health and education. With my sense of responsibility and strong work ethic, I am an independent voice who best represents our citizens. In these tough times, I want to do everything I can to put our citizens first and make a positive change for Monroe County. That's why I'm running for state representative.
