1) Strong Support for our Active Military and Veteran families and their dependents. 2) Support for our Private Sector, consisting of the businesses that presently provide jobs and vigilance in our effort to attract new and innovative business and organizations that will allow industry growth and keep our State?s economy healthy. This will require a legislature that understands the need to offer opportunities and incentives to attract businesses, and minimal interference and pressure through exorbitant taxation and needless legislation. As such, I will seek to install and support only legislation that takes into consideration the imperative for sufficient margin from profits to provide for a level of innovative efforts that give Alaskan businesses the greatest opportunity for competitive edge and leadership in their respective industries. 3) Taxes ? NO; support for innovation and our private sector growth ? YES (The answer) 4) Strong support for our Transportation infrastructure, and the industry partners supporting our Aeronautics, Railway, Ferry and Highway systems, their related support equipment and the dedicated contractor partnerships important to the upkeep, improvements and growth in areas that have the greatest potential for the expansion of our communities and business routes allowing the NO-where?s to become SOME-where?s. 5) Strong support for our families and their safety through sufficient deterrents to crime the activation of the death penalty for capital crimes and security across our state that assures a level of safety for our elderly, our children, their mothers and or guardians to feel safe to play in our parks and designated community centers without excessive fear of criminal activities that might threaten their well being while they seek to enjoy a quality of life fundamental to our States ability to attract new, and keep current Alaskan talent. 6) Strong commitment to the celebration of our State?s unique heritage of cultural diversity among our States people, as broad, beautiful, and diverse as our State herself. 7) Strong support for the protection of our, Second Amendment rights to bear arms, here in the #1 place and State where so many celebrate those rights not just out of tradition, nor even simply for security alone, but as a means to their daily subsistence, for their selves, children and other extended family members. We must protect this right and I stand firmly with those organizations that have traditionally stood with Alaskan?s in support of our right to bear arms.
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
My primary motivation in running for the State Senate is to join other fellow Republicans to create a Republican Majority in the Alaska Senate for the purpose of providing a vision of leadership to produce legislation that allows the private sector to grow and create jobs. I want to improve the business climate in Alaska so that we can attract, not run off business ventures and create Alaskan jobs. I want to keep our talented youth here in Alaska, by providing young and old alike access to well paying and exciting jobs, that build on the foundation of support provided to this State for generations through natural resource development, national and state defense, our fisheries, transportation and tourism?, as we innovate and open up new opportunities in all these fields and others that have yet to become a reality here in Alaska. To achieve this goal, I feel strongly, that it will take people who understand technology and the power of the private sector to innovate (read, Ron Slepecki-scientist), who do not see the same as simply a source of funds through federal and state taxation that limits profit margins and stifles innovation in order to fund endless social programs that can not be sustained.
