Reason for Seeking Public Office:

Like you, Kurt has been let down by politicians who make false promises and represent inept, unresponsive leadership. As your State Representative, Kurt will take pride in exhibiting untainted, uncompromised, principled, moral leadership.

Kurt vow to fight for the best interests of all District 7 residents and to use every tool at his disposal on your behalf, including powers prescribed by the State Constitution. Kurt promises to act on your behalf each and every day and to stand up when others sit down. Kurt will zealously fight to uphold our constitutionally guaranteed rights and freedoms, advocate for the complete repeal of Public Act 436, fight against government corruption, and hold myself and other politicians accountable to the citizens of this district.

As a "Highland Parker," Kurt is aware of the quality of life and financial issues plaguing District 7 (Highland Park & N.W. Detroit ), including crime, blight, an eroding tax base, and the fact that both the City of Highland Park as well as the City of Detroit are in a state-declared financial emergency.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King said it best: "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
