Vote to pass a bill that permits publications and newspapers in Jefferson Parish to publish judicial advertisements and legal notices.

Highlights:
-Mandates that weekly publications in Jefferson Parish be permitted to publish judicial advertisements and legal notices if the publication has been in business for at least five consecutive months prior to June 1st, 2006 (Sec. 1). -Requires that the publication have maintained a total circulation of at least 25,000 for at least three consecutive years (Sec. 1). -Requires that in Jefferson Parish publications be audited annually by an experienced publication auditing firm (Sec. 1). -Mandates that the audits reflect the circulation of the publication or newspaper by parish, and be submitted as an attachment to any request by a publication or newspaper to publish judicial advertisements and legal notices in Jefferson Parish (Sec. 1). -Mandates that this act become effective on August 15th, 2009 (Sec. 2).
