Title: Mobile Home Rent Control

Vote to pass a bill that restricts rental rate increases for mobile homes.

Highlights:

-Allows a mobile home park owner to establish the initial rental rates for mobile home tenancy in reference to the lesser of any of the following (Sec. 1):

    -Market levels (as defined in an appraisal in accordance with national standards); -Beginning January 1, 2011, a 14.285 percent increase of the last-charged rental rate; -Beginning January 1, 2012, a 28.57 percent increase of the last-charged rental rate; -Beginning January 1, 2013, a 42.85 percent increase of the last-charged rental rate; -Beginning January 1, 2014, a 57.14 percent increase of the last-charged rental rate; -Beginning January 1, 2015 a 71.425 percent increase of the last-charged rental rate; -Beginning January 1, 2016, an 85.71 percent increase of the last-charged rental rate; and -Beginning January 1, 2017 and thereafter a 100 percent increase of the last-charged rate.

NOTE: A MAJORITY OF THE TOTAL MEMBERS IN THE LEGISLATIVE BODY IS REQUIRED TO PASS A BILL: 41 MEMBERS OF THE ASSEMBLY AND 21 MEMBERS OF THE SENATE.
