Provides relative to the powers, duties, functions, and responsibilities of city, parish, and other local public school boards including prohibitions on the involvement of members of local school boards in certain administrative matters. Provides for the vote required for election and removal of a local school superintendent.

Highlights:

-Requires two-thirds favorable vote by the school board for the election of a new superintendent (Sec. 1). -Permits the local school board to remove the superintendent for cause by a vote of at least two-thirds of its members (Sec. 1). -Delegates all hiring powers for positions other than superintendent to the local superintendent of schools as of Jan. 1, 2011 (Sec. 1).
