Title: Scholarships for Disabled or Displaced Students

Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that grants tax credits for school tuition organizations that sponsor disabled or displaced students who wish to enroll in private schools.

Highlights:
-Qualified students are those who qualify for education grants because of disability or involvement in the foster care system (Sec. 6). -School tuition organizations are non-profit organizations that sponsor the educations of underprivileged, disabled or foster-care students (Sec. 6). -All schools must administer and publish scores from national achievement tests and also fingerprint all teachers and personnel (Sec. 5). -All students must have been in an Arizona public school for the first 100 days of the previous school year or have previously qualified for a grant that allowed them to attend private school (Sec. 6). -Qualified schools must be non-governmental primary or secondary schools located in Arizona that do not discriminate based on race, color, handicap, familial status or national origin (Sect. 6).
