Title: Requiring Spaying and Neutering of Dogs and Cats
Vote Smart's Synopsis:
Vote to pass a bill that requires cats that roam at large and all dogs to be sterilized by the age of six months, with some exceptions.
-Requires that dog owners have their pets sterilized by the age of six months, or obtain an unaltered dog license if allowed in their city and/or county (Sec. 1).
-Outlines criteria that allow for the licensing agency to revoke unaltered dog licenses (Sec. 1).
-Allows the licensing agency to assess a fee for all procedures relating to unaltered dog licenses (Sec. 1).
- Requires an owner or custodian who offers any unsterilized dog for sale, trade, or adoption at four months of age or older, or the age required by the licensing agency to include a valid unaltered dog license number with the offer of sale, trade, or adoption. (Sec. 1).
-Requires all cats that roam at large to be sterilized by the age of six months (Sec. 2).
