Title: Supplemental Fees and Taxes for MTA

Vote to pass a bill that funds the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) through various fees including payroll taxes, taxi cab surcharges, and licensing fees.

Highlights:
-Requires applicants to pay a supplemental learner's permit/license fee of one dollar for every six months that the permit or license is valid (Part A). -Requires a supplemental registration fee of twenty-five dollars per year upon the registration or renewal of a motor vehicle in the Metropolitan Commuter Transportation District (Part B). -Requires an additional payroll tax of .34 percent for employers and self-employed individuals making over $10,000 a year who do business within the Metropolitan Commuter Transportation District (Part C). -Resolves that school districts are fully reimbursed for payroll tax increases required by this legislation (Part D). -Requires that taxicab owners be taxed an additional fifty cents per taxicab ride on every ride that originates in the city and ends anywhere within the boundaries of the Metropolitan Commuter Transportation District, and permits cab owners to adjust fares accordingly (Part E). -Resolves that anyone renting a car in the Metropolitan Commuter Transportation District area pays a five percent use tax in addition to any other fees (Part F). -Establishes a Metropolitan Transportation Authority Financial Assistance Fund for the collection of supplemental funds (Part G).
