Title: Tenants' Protection During Foreclosure

Vote to pass a bill requiring landlords to inform current and potential tenants if a property shifts into foreclosure.

Highlights:

-Requires a landlord to notify tenants within sixty days after a foreclosure action is filed that the property may be sold at auction. The landlord must also notify tenants of the date, time and place of the sale at least twenty-one days in advance (Sec. 1). -Mandates that any rental agreement for a residential property that has been sold under a foreclosure action shall convert to a month-to-month rental agreement. To terminate this agreement, written notification must be provided 30 days before the date on which the rent payment is normally due (Sec. 1).
