Title: State Request for Federal Drug Importation
Vote to pass a bill that requires the governor and secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to request the secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services and Congress to allow the importation of medications from licensed overseas pharmacies, distributors and wholesalers by certified pharmacies, distributors and wholesalers. The bill also requires the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to design a program to facilitate importation of prescription drugs to Kentucky, once the federal government approves it.
