Vote to adopt a conference report that prohibits the Motor Vehicle Administration from issuing a state ID card, drivers license, or moped permit unless the applicant provides documentary evidence of his or her lawful status in the United states and documentary evidence that he or she either has a valid social security number or that he or she is not eligible for a social security number.

-Prohibits the Motor Vehicle Administration from issuing to applicants with temporary lawful status an identification card, moped operator's permit or license to drive with an expiration date later than the expiration of their authorized stay in the United States, or, if the authorization for their stay has no expiration date, for a period longer than one year (Sec 2). -Provides an exception period lasting until July 1, 2015 during which the Motor Vehicle Administration is allowed to renew an identification card, drivers license, or moped operator's permit in the absence of documentary evidence of lawful status or a valid social security number if the applicant certifies that he or she does not have a social security number and the applicant would otherwise be eligible for such a card, license, or permit (Sec. 2) -Specifies that any card, license, or permit issued under the terms of the exception period shall expire on July 1, 2015, shall feature a unique design or color indicator, and shall clearly state that it is not acceptable by federal agencies for official purposes (Sec. 2).

NOTE: THE LEGISLATURE PROVIDES ITS MEMBERS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO BOTH VOTE ON WHETHER TO CONCUR WITH THE CONFERENCE COMMITTEE'S AMENDMENTS AND, IF THE CONCURRENCE VOTE SUCCEEDS, VOTE TO REPASS THE BILL AFTER THE AMENDMENTS ARE INCORPORATED. THIS IS A VOTE ON REPASSAGE OF THE BILL AFTER THE MEMBERS CONCURRED WITH THE CONFERENCE COMMITTEE'S AMENDMENTS.
