Title: Seat Belt Law
Vote Smart's Synopsis:
Vote to pass a bill that makes a violation of the seat belt law a primary offense. Fines the driver of the vehicle $25 if the driver, front seat passenger, or a child between the ages of four and under eight is not wearing a seatbelt. This bill stipulates that all federal funds given to Mississippi as incentive to enforce the primary seat belt law be spent on highway safety infrastructure improvements, unless conditioned or restricted by federal law or federal rules and regulations concerning the expenditures of such funds.
